In 2019 I wrote a short film loosely based on my experience on a night out at karaoke while I was doing a dry month away from alcohol. In 2022, I unearthed the script & collaborated with Covert Ops Films to produce the film. Holding on Forever premiered in 2024 at Cinequest Film & Creativity Festival. It was also an official selection at San Luis Obispo International Film Festival, Queens World Film Festival, Walla Walla Movie Crush, Ashland Independent Film Festival, Buffalo International Film Festival, & Twin Cities Film Festival.
Sundance Co//ab
Directing Workshop | 2020
Credits: Director
In order to keep myself busy and driven during the pandemic, I applied for the Sundance Co//ab Directing Intensive for Summer of 2020. My application was accepted, and I participated in an 8 week course taught by director Alex Smith and under the 1:1 mentorship of director Matty Rich. The program provided a short scene that we filled in with our own characters, backstory, and location.
Sierra
Short Film | 2014
Credits: Writer / Director / Editor
In early 2012, I wrote and directed a short film about a young woman who returns home to say goodbye to her dying horse. In her journey, she reconnects with her family and a side of herself she long buried. This low budget passion project was filmed on location at my family ranch and even stars my own mother and step father; a choice inspired by Chloe Zhao’s use of non-actors. Sierra screened at several festivals including Traildance Film Festival 2014, Arizona International Film Festival 2014, Women Media Arts & Film Festival in Australia 2013, and Choice City Film Festival 2013.
We’re Just Like You
Short Film | 2010

A friend wrote a script about a serial killer who was desperate for human connection, but could only find it in the most sinister of ways. He challenged me to make it beautiful. This was my very first directorial effort, and in breaking down the screenplay, I found a deep loneliness and sadness in the character that yearned for any kind of connection, and with that—tragedy because of the means by which she sought that connection. I also had the opportunity to sneak a little Nolan / Memento reference in the end that I’m still very proud of. We’re Just Like You has screened at Jennifer’s Bodies Horror Film Festival in Scotland 2012, A Nightmare to Remember Horror Film Festival in San Francisco 2011, Bleedfest 2011, and was the winner of the Sundance Kabuki Short Film Competition in 2011.
